Mel Morelli lives and works in Chicago, where they indulge and research their love of old music, vintage, true crime, tattoo imagery, religious iconography, history, and other dark and strange subject matters. They have been making art for over thirty years, with most of those years focusing  on portraits of people they find interesting. They prefer to work small, with most pieces being no larger than 11x16. They regularly keep a sketchbook which is full of drawings of subjects that fascinate them.
